HELMET ADJUSTMENT: For optimal protection, the helmet should be in close contact with the head, but without compressing it. When the harness is well adjusted, the helmet must not move forward, or from side to side. 2. HARNESS ADJUSTMENT: For optimal support the harness must go under the jaw, like the chinstrap, and not sit on the chin. 3. SHOCK ABSORPTION: The helmet is designed to absorb some of the energy from an impact through partial deformation of the shell or of the protective padding, or both.
